London: Paul Elek, c1947. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 12.5" by 9.5". None. A first edition volume on the art of French books, edited by Andre Lejard. With and introduction by Philip James, director of art at The Arts Council of Great Britain, the work deals with volumes from early manuscripts up until the time of publication, and contains very attractive monochrome and colour plates throughout, capturing the art work and designs of the volumes discusses vividly In cloth binding. Externally quite smart, there is some wear and rubbing to the extremities, as well as markings to the boards and backstrip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are generally bright and clean throughout, though somewhat creased in various areas. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
