Very Good/Acceptable. 6x1x9. 1939 first edition, first printing, Sheed and Ward (New York), 4 5/8 x 7 inches tall orange cloth hardcover in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, black lettering to spine, illustrated with black-and-white reproductions of artwork, 285 pp. Very slight soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers, with just a touch of small white stains to the rear cover. Prior owner signature and notations in red to the blank front pastedown and free-endpaper. Very slight staining to half title page. Otherwise, a very good copy in a rubbed, soiled, edgeworn and chipped dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~SP27~ [1.5P] Louis Henri Jean Charlot (1898-1979) was a French-born American painter and illustrator, active mainly in Mexico and the United States. This book of his collected articles deals mainly with American Art.
