Description

London Bombay Sydney: George G. Harrap & Co., 1938. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 658 pages, indexed. The book's printer's imprint states it is a first edition (fifth impression), presumably first British edition, as 1937 is the commonly offered date for the first American one. The jacket is chipped at the edges, which also duffer from closed tears; there is minor loss to the head and tail; a very small section between pp 341 to 384 are bumped towards the head; the pages are lightly tanned. Else a clean, unmarked and solid copy. "Eugene Lyons (July 1, 1898 - January 7, 1985), born Yevgeny Natanovich Privin ), was a Russian-born American journalist and writer. A fellow traveler of Communism in his younger years, Lyons became highly critical of the Soviet Union after several years there as a correspondent of United Press International. Lyons also wrote a biography of President Herbert Hoover." (wikipedia)

About Good Reading Second Hand Books Victoria, Australia

Specialising in: Theology
Biblio member since 2008

Good Reading was established in 1991. In early 2013, I downsized from a shop which spanned a block and two stories to a largish house which resembles a rabbit warren. There are at approximately 40,000 titles, including a large selection of books in French and German, most of which have not yet been catalogued. I also have a very large Theology section, and a substantial cookery and Australian History one. Please contact me if there is a specific title you are chasing as it may be languishing on the shelf uncatalogued. All enquiries will be answered promptly, books will be mailed out swaddled like Russian babies, and all faults honestly described. I do a full refund for any book sporting nasty surprises.

Terms of Sale:

30 day return guarantee, with full refund including original shipping costs for up to 30 days after delivery if an item arrives misdescribed or damaged.
