About This Item

1927. Hardcover. Book is great condition; nice white pages, sharp corners, especially tight binding, possibly unread. Dust jacket has just a little handling wear, a few ver small dings. A very solid but not quite perfect copy.

Synopsis

August 1914 is a novel by Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn about Imperial Russia's defeat at the Battle of Tannenberg in East Prussia. The novel was completed in 1970, first published in 1971, and an English translation was first published in 1972. The novel is an unusual blend of fiction narrative and historiography, and has given rise to extensive and often bitter controversy, both from the literary as well as from the historical point of view.

Terms of Sale

excermice

All of my items are sent USPS media mail unless otherwise requested, and I use recycled packing materials whenever possible. Sorry, in 2024 USPS jacked up their Media Mail prices, so I have to do so also. Most of the books I'm selling are heavy and will cost $6-$8 to ship even at Media Mail prices. Setting my standard one-book shipping rate at $7 which will be less than actual cost in most cases. If you're a collector who is particular about the specifics of a book's condition, please ask before ordering. I'm happy to address all concerns in advance. Works out better for both of us that way. Will send photos for rare or collectible books. Returns accepted if item is damaged or otherwise not as described. Must be sent back within a week after the date the item arrives in your hands.

About excermice

Offering my grandmother's collection of over 200 art books published from the 1920s to the 1970s, plus about half of my own 1200-book library, a few boxes of misc. books accumulated over the years, and a bunch of DVDs. New to Biblio in late 2021, but have great feedback and long-term accounts going back to 1997 on Ebay (excermice) and 2008 on Discogs (leftoribittemple). Buy with confidence.
