ASE # 813 / 1945 / Noted for limited use of punctuation, an influencer of Cormac McCarthy, who said that Kantor was the first writer he encountered who left punctuation out; Kantor was one of three primary influences on McCarthy's unique style. In World War II, Kantor entered the Buchenwald concentration camp as it was liberated; experience prompted writing of Andersonville, his Confederate prisoner of war camp novel. Won the Pulitzer Prize in 1956. Black history ephemera interest - includes story "The Darkies are Gay". Printed across two columns to make reading under battlefield conditions easier.
