NY: Modern Library. VG. 1927. 1st Modern Lib. Ed.. Hardcover. First Modern Library edition (Stated) bound in brown leatherette. Bern ard endpapers, 16mo size, 485pp + 4 page list of title at rear. VG cop y, tiny, light rub marks to the bottom corners and base of spine. Cont ent is clean, tight and unmarked. In Good, fragile dj that is soiled, has 2 small chips in the middle of the spine and shallow chips to the spine tips and corners. There is a 6cm long closed tear between the r ear panel and the spine. Both inner flaps have short tears at the fold s. Printed Price (.95) is uncut. .

Benvenuto Cellini was born in Florence in 1500 and died in 1571. James Fenton is a prizewinning poet, former professor of poetry at Oxford, and a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books .
