With a letter on the publishing house headed paper, reading: "With the Compliments of E. H. Connor" A collection of literary essays on the poetry of the French Renaissance, including: Villon, Marot, Ronsard, Malherbe, and many others. Written by Hilaire Belloc, a Franco-English writer and historian also known as an orator, poet, sailor, satirist, writer of letters, soldier, and political activist. His Catholic faith had a strong effect on his works. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities.
