Disbound, three-hole punched (some sheets partially double punched). Fair. Illustration of a B-52 on cover sheet. 21 sheets/printed on one side only. Illustrations. Pagination ends at 18, but there is also a sheet 3 A, and 5 A, and the cover sheet is not numbered. Some pencil comments/notations on some pages. It is extremely rare for this type of ephemeral training material to survive. This work sheet belonged to Alfred A. Zealy. Proudly served his country with the rank of Lt. Col. in the United States Air Force. Served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring after 29 years as the Air Advisor at the Milwaukee Based 128th Air Refueling Group. He attended class 57-16. The course outline included: System Introduction and Panel Familiarization; Alternator Drives (General Electric and Thompson), AC Power Generation and Control; AC Power Distribution, DC Power Generation and Distribution, AC Power Panel Operation, Electrical System Protective Devices, and System Review and Evaluation. Illustrations include AC Power Panel (with accompanying sheet identifying panel components), AC Power Panel Schematic, Grease Lubricated Thompson Drive Schematic, Simplified A.C. Power Distribution Schematic,Simplified A.C. Power Distribution and Transfer System Schematic, Left Hand Aft Alt., Left Hand Forward Alt., Right Hand Forward Alt., Right Hand Aft Alt., Forward D. C. Power Distribution System, and D-C Control Panel (Typical)/Pilots' Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel. Mobile Training Detachments increased rapidly after the Korean War, and were particularly utilized to support B-52 operations. Castle Air Force Base (1941-1995) is a former United States Air Force Strategic Air Command base in California, located northeast of Atwater, northwest of Merced, and about 115 miles (185 km) south of Sacramento. The Central Valley base in unincorporated Merced County was closed 25 years ago in 1995, pursuant to a Base Realignment and Closure Commission decision following the end of the Cold War and the disestablishment of Strategic Air Command (SAC). It is now known as the Castle Airport Aviation and Development Center.
