A scarce history of early days in Tennessee. The text covers the destruction of Fort Loudoun by the Cherokees, the Watauga Association, John Sevier, the tragedy of Stone River, William Blount, the Nickojack expedition, early settlements and Indian troubles, and includes a chapter on the Mound Builders. It also includes a chronological index at the back. Though there are substantial institutional holdings, this work is quite scarce in commerce
