Henry Austin Dobson (1840-1921) was an English poet and essayist. This work revives the eighteenth century and its ways of life, and contains 'A Gentleman of the Old School', 'A Dead Letter', 'Molly Trefusis' and 'The Old Sedan Chair' amongst other poems.With fifty illustrations by Hugh Thomson (1860-1920), an Irish illustrator renowned for his pen and ink illustrations for the likes of J. M. Barrie, Charles Dickens and Jane Austen.With a small amount of the dust wrapper used as a bookmark.A third edition.Bound in beautiful decorative pictorial cloth. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with a small stain to the front board. The spine is a little faded; otherwise some general wear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages have just the odd spot. Very Good
