Toronto, ON, Canada: Macmillan Company, 1969. BX5 - A hard cover first edition book in very good- condition with a dust jacket in good+ condition. Stated frist printing with no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in orange cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine and gold lettering and a graphic on the front with very minor overall shelf wear plus there is some very light soiling on the top outside paper edges plus there are two remainder marks on the bottom outside paper edges. The dust jacket shows moderate overall shelf wear plus there is some light edge wear overall plus there is some light edge wear with creasing and chipping on the spine top edge and along the front top edge plus there is considerable surface chipping along the back right edge plus there is some light rubbing overall plus there are two closed tears, one on the front top edge (about 0.5") and the other on the back top edge (about 0.25") plus there is some light creasing on the back bottom edge. A portrait of the Spanish city of Barcelona that examines the city's past and present, its customs and culture, its metabolism and government and its plans for the future as related to the need to focus on the human-scaled solutions cities will require to survive as a human environment. Illustrated with black and white drawings by Donald Carrick. By the author of "London: The Civic Sprit." Indexed, 199p.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 6.5"x9.5".
