A special edition in celebration of Taschen's twenty-fifth anniversary, a 2012 copy of this work originally published in 1990, celebrating the noted German art school operational from 1919 to 1933 known as the Bauhaus. The school combined crafts the fine arts, and became famous for its unique approach to design, unifying the principles of mass production with individual artistic vision, and aesthetics with everyday function. By Magdalena Droste. Illustrated in text throughout both in colour and in black and white. Looking at the history, architecture and design, and development of the school until its close in 1933 due to pressure from the Nazi regime. With the unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's binding with paper covered boards. Externally lovely. The dust wrapper is unclipped and excellent, with only minor shelf wear. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated in text both in black and white and in colour. Fine
