About This Item

Greenwich, CT: Fawcett, 1960. First Edition Paperback Original. Very good plus copy with some minor age toning to and very slight edge wear in printed wrappers. A collection of “raw, penetrating stories, poems, and social criticism” by such noted Beat writers as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Anatole Broyard, Hubert Selby, Jr., Norman Mailer, William Burroughs, Philip Lamantia, Gergory Corso, and more. The front cover is a black & white photograph of what can only be described as a “hip scene” set in an urban apartment with modern art on the walls and an Indian print bedspread on the couch where a beared man in horn-rimmed glasses sits with two beautiful and smart looking women in deep converstation with a James Agee book on the coffee table in the foreground.
