Reynal & Hitchcock, 1947. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Inscribed "Best Wishes to Anya & Peter [Vierling]" and SIGNED by "Dick Wilbur" on front free endpaper. Peter Vierling was himself a poet who won the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, thus rendering this an important association copy as well as a rare signed first edition of Wilbur's first book. Book and dust jacket in solid overall condition, unmarked otherwise; jacket is unclipped and in protective mylar.
