About This Item

London: Duckworth, 1989. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First Thus - collects the first three Beryl Bainbridge novels published by Duckworth in the early 1970's - Harriet Said, The Dressmaker and The Bottle Factory Outing. pp. 475, black cloth with gilt titles at the backstrip. Quite a heavy book and this copy is cracked at the front hinge but the book remains square and surprisingly tight. Some minor indentations to the upper cover visible when angled under a light but overall a VG clean copy without owner names etc. The dustjacket is unclipped with minor loss at the corners and a series of scratches or indentations to the gloss of the upper cover as though someone has used the book to lean upon when drawing or writing upon a piece of paper. Slightly creased along the top edge.A Good dustjacket. SIGNED directly to the title page by Beryl Bainbridge, uncommon thus.
