Duodecimo size (12mo), 7.75"/19.6cm h. Bound in publisher's burnt orange cloth, gilt lettering/ornamentation to spine. Lacking dust-jacket. Plain white endpapers. [Xii] pp prelim material, 242 numbered pp, plus two blank; frontispiece plus three additional sheets b&w illus on coated paper. Condition notes: a worn but solid and noteworthy copy of a collectible early Heinlein novel. Lacking dust-jacket. Boards worn and stained, loss of brightness to spine gilt; a private/handwritten catalog number to spine. Spine ends rolled, corners bumped. Spine cocked. Light soiling/tanning to textblock edges. Interior tanned but clean. Tail front pastedown retains classic/historic book label ("Hampels Bookshop Milwaukee"). Former owner's name to front free endpaper - "R.A. Greiner" - longtime University of Wisconsin electrical and computer engineering professor, and founder of the Doc Greiner Research Observatory. We personally inspect every book we offer.
Synopsis
Beyond This Horizon is a science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein. It was originally published as a two-part serial in Astounding Science Fiction (April, May 1942, as by Anson MacDonald) and then eventually as a single volume by Fantasy Press in 1948.
