Reprint of the five 1956 University of Virginia Press original volumes, plus the 1960 index. 6 volumes, bound in 5 books. xiv, 502pp.; (6), 504pp.; (6), 504pp.; (6), 504pp.; 552pp., + Index: xii, 147pp. [2,751 total pages]. Still the most authoritative bibliography on South Carolina. Valuable as well for extensive information on Georgia, Florida, and the South. Described here are nearly 7,500 imprints published from 1563 to 1950. Provided are full title and collation, place and date of publication, publisher, notes on plates, maps, reprint editions, etc. Many entries include useful annotations. Cross referenced to Sabin, Evans, McMurtrie, De Renne, etc. John Cook Wylie refers to this as "the foundation stone" of South Carolina bibliography. Tanselle calls this an "outstanding imprint list."
