New York: Harper & Brothers, 1910. 8vo size red clothbound hardcover with black illustration on front cover; 322 pages; black and white illustrations and decorations throughout with some one color illustrations by Rose O'Neill. Author Josephine Daskam Bacon (1876-1961) wrote more than 40 books during a more than 40 year writing career, many of them juvenile mysteries and novels. A Reading Copy: Red cloth cover is spotted on back and spine is darkened. Book has a weak rear hinge (pastedown and boards are intact, it just wiggles.) Pencilled numbers inside back cover. Pencilled prices and booksellers notations on fep. Color frontispiece and title page are detached and laid in. Several small light stains at seam between back of title page and contents page. Color illustration opposite page 42 is detached from book and laid in with stain along seam. Page 245 also has stain along seam; several turned page tips.
