With the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with one hundred colour plates. Collated complete. A detailed and comprehensive ornithological study of the birds of Britain, with reference to the habitats, characteristics and song of each individual species and sub-species residing and migrating in the area. Written by John Lewis Bonhote, an English zoologist, ornithologist, and author. Illustrated by Henry Eeles Dresser, an English ornithologist and businessman who collected bird skins and eggs. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Minor loss to the tail of the spine. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with wear and chipping to the extremities. Light loss to the head and tail of the spine. Sunning to the spine, the odd small closed tear and light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown dated 1920. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Very Good Indeed
