1880. Ca. 1880 original hand colored albumen print titled 'Blind Shampoo'. Showing the traditional Japanese shampoo, a form of massage performed by a blind person. The image shows a reclining woman in kimono, under a green quilt, with a blind shampooer dressed in a red robe behind her. A tea pot resting on a brazier is in the foreground. The lady rests on her side, possibly reading or writing. 10 1/2 x 8 1/2 in, mounted on board. Image slt faint at upper half of print, o/w very good. HKD775.
