About This Item

London: Michael Joseph, 1967. UNCORRECTED PROOF, preceding the First UK Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the title page: "Barry / Hi! / Dick Francis."

1969 Edgar Award nominee for Best Novel.

Very Good plus in brown wrappers as issued. Very slightly cocked, with vertical wrinkling at the spine and a small splash on the bottom edges of the front wrapper and first two leaves.

Synopsis

Gene Hawkins takes on the job of locating a missing priceless breeding stallion. But he gets more action than he bargained for from a group of horse thieves who want to put Hawkins out to pasture--permanently.
