Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 1968 Hardcover, 8vo, in brown cloth with a black label with gilt title to the spine, and having a pictorial dust jacket ,now in mylar, 430 pp. The award-winning author was Professor, and Chairman, of the History Department at the University of Idaho. The book describes the history and impact of the various gold rushes throughout the Western United States in the nineteenth century, including particulars of those in California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, the Klondike and Yukon. He explores the significance this activity on the social, economic, political and cultural life of the West. Condition: Very Good with the pages bright and clean on the interior, no writing, no bumps to the boards. There is some mild foxing to the top edge only of the text block. The dust jacket is about Good: there is some rubbing to the front, and an inch-long closed tear on the front surface of the d/j. The d/j is price clipped.. Hardcover. Very Good/Good.
