About This Item

Vista Books. London. 1962/3. THREE VOLUMES. Large 8vo. (8.1 x 6.1 inches). Book of Joy is a First Collected edition, the other two are early reprints. Each volume is illustrated throughout with 64 illustrations, many in full colour. A fine, clean set which have been finely bound, by Zaehnsdorf of London, in full green, brown and blue morocco. Spines with raised bands, each with gilt piping along the ridge. Compartments ruled and lettered in gilt. Boards with single gilt ruled borders, the front boards all with the book title stamped within a decorative border, all in gilt. Original decorative endpapers bound in. The inner boards edges have elaborate gilt decoration. All edges gilt. Housed in a blue cloth covered slip case. A little darkening to the spine of the Book of Delights but overall this is a fine trio, in beautiful leather bindings, of this interesting series of anthology volumes, each containing verse, essays, short stories and quotes. A wonderful presentation.
