Montreal : Dawson Brothers , 1868 . First Edition . Near Fine . 12MO . An odd little bit of Canadiana variously attributed to Edward Ellice, a prominent merchant and landowner who was instrumental in the amalgamation of the Northwest Company and the Hudson's Bay Company and one John Harris. The Book-Keeper of the title is the Recording Angel who keeps a profit and loss ledger on every person and the translation from Shciller is The Song of the Bell with German and English on facing pages. Bound in brown gilt-titled cloth. Lightest of wear with some very minor scrapes on the rear board. Watters p.65. Lande S0228 (McGill Library).
