New York, New York, U.S.A.: Saalfield Publishing Company, 1921. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. No. 8 in the series of scouting adventures written by George Durston & Robert Maitland (pseudonyms for Georgia Roberts Durston) in this popular series for boys published by Saalfield beginning shortly after the formation of the Boy Scouts of America. Though this is a FIRST EDITION from 1921, cannot determine printing as there are no other books in the series listed. Unpaginated, 4 pages of ads for other children's books in rear, plain frontispiece (artist unattributed). Hardcover 8vo has deep red cloth over boards stamped with a multiscene image of scouts & lettering in black to front cover & spine. Condition is VG: very clean, binding straight & strong but front hinge is cracked. Pages heavily tanned but completely unmarked. Modest corner bumping & rubbing to extremities. No DJ.
