Jacket though price clipped has been preserved for years in a clear mylar wrapper, which has eliminated all but a hint of edge age browning. I gently erased a sales price (1st endsheet) and tiny numbercode (last pastedown) and the resulting tiny erasures are barely visible. Original bookstore sales label last pastedown. This book has the R/M Edition statement (1952) under which is an 'A'. While it does not match The McBrides statement precisely the A seems to lock down its status as the 1st appearance. Not utterly flawless but nearly so. A hint of bindery darkening at first/ last gutters, as made. Will be stored in acid free mylar now. Many years ago I got a damaged fine art Book of Norman Rockwell, from which I removed perhaps 10 scouting plates, large, some b & w, many color they are with this book and sold with it. They are undamaged and accompanied with news clippings, they are perfectly suited for framing. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, and graded, using the strict, traditional standards. For this reason, we have virtually zero returns.*
