Contains biographies of about 40 prominent people: Scott, Pope, Webster, Audbon, Franklin, Nelson, Newton, etc. Old owner name in pencil on end paper dated 1857. Author's name not given in books but gleaned through research. Original brown cloth decorated covers. The covers rubbed & worn, spine lettering worn off, extremity wear. Yellow end papers are stained, text mostly clean (a little scattered foxing). ; B&W Illustrations; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 385 pages .
