Spine edges gently bent, minor wear on boards; block edges slightly tanned. Ink inscriptions on endpaper "Peter Mitchell-Thompson with best wishes, Jan 1926 from Arthur Churchman". "Deep in the heart of almost every boy lies and instinct for adventures, a love of the unknown and a desire to know the secrets of things." Very interesting book from different fields of science: chemistry, mechanics, liquids, sound, heat, light, electricity and meteorology. Alfred P. Morgan (1889-1972) was an electrical engineer, an inventor with patents on radio and mechanical devices, and an author of technical and children's books. Very scarce and hard to find, only 2 copies on copac available. .
