The head & tail of the spine and the corners of the covers are creased & rubbed. 218 & [1] pages. Illustrated in black & white with a portrait frontispiece, full-page illustrations, charts and facsimiles. Very good.

New York State, aware that many records had been lost or destroyed after the war, was attempting to reconstruct a record of the state's home front activities in support of the war effort. The Buffalo War Council, which organized and directed all of Buffalo's civilian war activities, was recognized as being one of the most effective war councils in the state, if not the country.
