About This Item
New York State, aware that many records had been lost or destroyed after the war, was attempting to reconstruct a record of the state's home front activities in support of the war effort. The Buffalo War Council, which organized and directed all of Buffalo's civilian war activities, was recognized as being one of the most effective war councils in the state, if not the country.
