About This Item
A collection of 14 pamphlets, brochures and booklets relating to aspects of California history. I have been able to find most of these items offered for sale online, and if you were to buy the cheapest ones out there, you would end up paying $170 or more and still not have them all. I think my price is a bargain. The items included are as follows:
The Story Told by a Fallen Redwood: by Emanuel Fritz. 1949, 8 pages, very little wear. Published by Save-the-Redwoods League (STRL). Muir Woods: Two copies, 1954 and 1957. Both are bifold sheets equivalent to six pages. On the 1954 edition, the first fold has failed. The 1957 edition has very little wear. Published by the National Park Service. A Living Link in History: by John C. Merriam. 1950, 8 pages, little wear. Published by STRL. Motorland, Volume LXXV, No. 3: September 1954, 28 pages. Published by the California State Automobile Association. East Bay Heritage: Vignettes of the Bay Area's Colorful Past, Volumes 1-3: Date unknown, but after 1971 for vol. 2 and 3 and before 1971 for vol. 1, as evidenced by zip codes given in the address of the publisher in the later volumes. Published by the Mountain View Cemetery Association. Very little wear. (I found volumes 4 and 5 being offered on line, but not these three.) The Story of Ramona's Marriage Place: Date unknown, 14 pages, mild wear. Published by Ramona's Marriage Place. Redwoods of the Past: by Ralph W. Chaney. 1950, 8 pages, mild wear. Published by STRL. Saving the Redwoods: ca. 1950, 8 pages, mild wear. Published by STRL. Sequoia NAtional Park: 1940, 16 pages, mild wear. Published by the National Park Service. Colorful California Names: Their History and Meaning: by Thomas P. Brown. 1935, 28 pages, little wear. Published by the American Trust Company. The Romantic Road to California's Yesterdays: ca. 1920, 28 pages, age yellowed, with a small piece of the upper corner missing from the back cover. This is an advertising brochure for a three-day, all-inclusive car trip from Los Angeles to San Fransisco, or vise-versa, for the grand sum of $47.50. Published by California Parlor Car Tours, Inc.

About Turtleman Used Books
Opened August 1st of 2022, Turtleman Used Books in Olympia, WA. Address is 108 22nd Ave SW, Olympia, WA 98501. Suite #4. This is a small shop, so some books may only be displayed online, others only displayed in the store. Come on by if you are in town. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Many of my books are oversized. Rather than ask for shipping adjustments at the time of purchase, the list price for heavier books includes the excess shipping cost. All of my photographs are of the actual product, taken by my trusty little Kindle Fire. Currently we have about 2900 books offered for sale online, with more being added daily. Check back frequently to see what's new. -----
