"A Short History of a Small Place" is the first of T.R.Pearson's trilogy of novels set in Neely, South Carolina; a "Call and Response" also captures life and language in the rural South. Bound in deep pink half cloth, gilt titled, with deep pink boards, very clean and unmarked; tight, solid and square. Title page has a tiny closed tear to the upper edge, otherwise internals are as new. Jacket looks fine but there is a split in the fold-over edge that's hard to find; very clean and unmarked, no edgewear. A novel capturing the peculiar 'lilts and rhythms' of the South. 382 pages. 6.5 x 9.75 inches. 1989, Linden Pub/Simon & Schuster, New York, New York, USA
