Small 8vo, contemporary blind-ruled sheep, brown leather label, gilt lettering. With the first and final blanks and three pages of publisher's terminal advertisements. An interesting guide to the landmarks and civic structure of London by a lawyer and author on legal matters, John Brydall (circa 1635-1705). He writes about the origins and organization of cities; the etymology of the name London; the history of its landmarks; the layers of civic bureaucracy; and the essential laws and regulations governing the town.
