About This Item
Chautauqua, NY, 1934. Age toning and soiling.. Camp Tonka'wa, pronouced Ton-ka-wa, was an all boys camp in upstate New York. There the boys would spend their summer camping in tents on raised wooden platforms participating in a variety of activities, such as tennis, golf, swimming, boating and canoeing, aquaplaning (a form of water-skiing), nature study, drama, horseback riding, arts and crafts, and model airplane construction. The brochure has fifteen (15) printed photographs featuring the grounds and campers at play from earlier years. At the end of the brochure there is a rip out application to Camp Tonka'wa. The camp rates are listed on the back inside cover ($150 for the whole season, $80 for a half season) as well as the additional charges for horseback riding and laundry. The camp also provided tutoring services as needed, weekly reports, and a small camp store for campers to get a few treats from. 16 pages, including illustrated wrappers. Staple binding. Measures 9 3/4" x 7
