Description:
This cartoon was drawn and signed by Canadian artist John Duchak (1921-2012), who served as the official artist in the No. 6 Group, Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII overseas in England. The purpose of this cartoon which was published for distribution to members of the Canadian Royal Air Force No.6 Group personnel was education for airmen and official military news. The Duchak cartoons use humor and comical graphics to reinforce Canadian Royal Air Force safety messages and instructions to its pilots and crew. Duchak's humor is irreverent and touches officers as well as enlisted men.The characters in the cartoons are both Allied troops and Nazi Air Force pilots. As the official No. 6 Group artist, Duchak had liberty to draw cartoons with comedy and humor, and some irony that were published alongside routine official military notices and instructions.
