Including such beautiful spots as Arundel Castle, Rochester Castle, Waltham Abbey, Kenilworth Castle, Carisbrooke Castle, Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle, amongst others.Written by William Beattie, a Scottish writer, physician and poet known for his descriptive and historical works, as well as travel writings.Bound in the original decorative cloth, with gilt embellishments to the spine and front boards.Undated; dated from copies on Jisc.Volume I is illustrated with over two-hundred engravings, including ten plates on steel; volume II with twenty-seven engravings on steel and numerous woodcuts. Collated, complete.A lovely collection describing these remarkable landmarks scattered across England and Wales. In the original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; some bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine, which is slightly faded as to be expected. Internally, binding is generally firm, with some slight strain to the hinges which remain secure. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a little spotting to the plates. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
