About This Item

London: William Heinemann, 1924. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A charming edition of the sequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's incredibly popular historical adventure, in a full calf binding. In a smart Charterhouse School full calf prize binding. An attractive copy of Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson's sequel to his beloved historical adventure novel, 'Kidnapped'. Beginning precisely as that novel ends, this work continues the adventures of the central character of that work, David Balfour. In 2018 Stevenson was ranked, just behind Charles Dickens, as the 26th-most-translated author in the world. With the binder's stamp of 'Riviere' to the recto of the front free endpaper. In a full calf school prize signed binding. Some fading to spine, but externally very attractive. Binder's stamp to recto of front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to endpapers, with tidemark to rear endpaper. Pages otherwise clean and bright. Very Good Indeed
