Collated, complete.A prominent Swedish geographer, topographer, explorer, photographer, travel writer and illustrator, Sven Hedin travelled over six thousand miles through Asia between 1899 and 1902. This account of the journey discusses the scientific, cultural, and religious features of one of the areas encountered.With the stamp 'Disposed of by the Royal Institution' to the half title of volume I, and the title page of volume II.An attractive example of this informative study. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip heads and tails, with small closed tear to volume I head. Marks to head of rear board of volume II.
