The first edition, first impression, in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.Flat signed to the front free endpaper 'To Desmond, with affection, admiration, gratitude and good memories', and dated Christmas 1994. Desmond Morris was a zoologist best known for his 1967 sociobiological work "The Naked Ape". Alongside achieving great acclaim as a zoologist, Morris was also known for being an ethnologist and surrealist painter, and for popular television programmes, including "Zoo Time".With Morris's bookplate to the front pastedown. In this work, Fox demonstrates how anthropology must learn from both natural and behavioural sciences. Fox covers topics including the psychology of aggression, war, and ideology, kinship and marriage, prejudice and cognition, mythology and Marxism.
