London: John Murray, 1870. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. A scarce new edition of this exciting work by Nimrod, or Charles James Apperley. Scarce work. New edition. Illustrated throughout with frontispiece, fourteen plates, and many illustrations. Originally written for the Quarterly Review in 1837, these three papers explore the subjects of horse riding, hunting, horse-drawn vehicles and chases. Written by Nimrod, or Charles James Apperley, a Welsh sportsman and sporting writer from an English family, and often resident in both countries. In the original quarter green cloth binding with red cloth boards. Externally, sound with bumping and light rubbing to the extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges tender but firm. Pages are bright and clean. Previous owner's bookplate to the front paste down. Bookseller's label also to the front pastedown. Good
