About This Item
Boston: International Publishing Co, 1910. Cloth. Very Good. The uncommon 1910 1st edition of this thoughtful look at chess strategy. Dispensing with the typical annotated games and diagrams, this book is all prose and reflects on essential ingredients of successful play such as "mobility", "position", "organization", "grand reconnaissance", etc. A very solid copy to boot. Tight and VG, with bright gilt-lettering to the front panel and lightly-faded lettering and insignia at the spine. Very light foxing and soiling to the preliminaries, otherwise clean as could be. Octavo, 202 pgs., top-edge gilt.
