London: Jas. Wade, 1885. 1st Edition . Good. 6.75 x 9.75 inches (17 x 25 cm). Bound volume containing all 12 issues (without wraps). Blue cloth binding. Spine split to sides and worn to ends. Boards worn to corners. Endpaper joints cracked and loose, rear endpaper joint has tape residue. Page block is sitting too low in the binding and appears to have been reglued. Foxing to endpapers. Binding strained in a few places, a couple of issues are protruding slightly from the page block but fully attached. Pages have light toning. A few pencilled notes, text is otherwise clean throughout. Scarce. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper: 'D. Miller, 17 June 1916.' David Miller was a longstanding member of the Metropolitan Chess Club and served as Club President from 1950-1956. We have several other volumes from Miller's collection, including prize volumes from the Metropolitan Club. Overall condition is Good. Size: 6.75 x 9.75 inches (17 x 25 cm). Hardback.
