A novel about the frustrated love of a man in his forties for a very young girl. 295 pp. Brown cloth covered boards have as-new gilt text on the spine and a blind stamped bare tree branch on the front panel. Book has slightly rubbed spine ends and an 1/8" ding that is showing some white on top rear edge. Unclipped ($8.95) DJ has tail of spine sticker repair, 1/2" closed tear at top of rear panel near spine, front flap that is creased from top to bottom, some yellowing of edges and light soiling. Book is tight and square. It is from the collection of Toronto author/poet and often-time host at Harbourfront literary events, Greg Gatenby. His signature and the year this book was acquired are found top ffep. "to Greg - Joyce Carol Oates" SIGNED by AUTHOR in blue ink. Bookseller's Inventory # 123027.
