New York; (1930): W.W. Norton and Co. First Edition. Octavo. 286 pages. Translation of Vers l'kunited and Ma mere et moil. This work is not only autobiographical but it deals with the 1916 Chinese Revolution and his research in Paris. Mr. Cheng Shenkg was professor of comparative sericulture at the Sorbonne, Paris. Later he taught sociology at the Central University in Nanking. This is the most important early book of Chinese sociology and has been translated into many languages. Bound in 1/4 gray cloth over decorative Chinese paper covered boards, spine lettering black, edges rubbed, some finger soiling to spine. Only light toning to leaves. A very good copy.
