Intended as an introductory course in the topics of electrical circuits and electromagnetic fields, this text deliberately confines itself to the material that can be tackled satisfactorily in the first year of an undergraduate course. The treatment is fundamental and aims to give a solid base from which students can tackle problems of a varied nature; the text itself is punctuated with worked examples and each chapter rounded off with self-test questions. The opening chapters present the mathematics essential to an understanding of the material in the rest of the text. The final chapter of the book emphasizes that circuits and fields are descriptions of the same phenomena and are therefore closely linked.
