About This Item
Darien, Conn: Privately Printed, 1922. Limited. Cloth/paper. Very Good Plus/None Issued. Limited edition of 1250 copies , 1225 numbered copies for sale and 25 lettered copies not for sale. This is No. 516. Small quarto; tan buckram over light brown- paper covered boards; edges uncut. Controversial and somewhat experimentally styled collection of interwoven short stories dealing with residents of a single block in New York City. Although the work was translated into French and Russian, an American trade edition did not appear until 1932 (Frank had rejected the idea of a slightly expurgated edition for the American market in the 1920s.) A very good or better copy with very light rubbing to the edges of the apper covered boards and faint sunning to the spine strip.
