Quarter black buckram with olive paper on the boards, faded at the top edge. Square and firmly bound, some pencil underlining on the first thirty pages, clean otherwise. Heinemann's debut novel about an American soldier in the Vietnam War, often praised with other Vietnam War novels like The Things They Carried, The Short-Timers, and A Rumor of War.
