Although the d.j. painting shows children in 1920s dress and hair styles, and boards match that shown in picture, the children depicted on end pages wear 1940s style clothes. There is only the copyright notice of 1926 on copyright page but gift inscription reads Xmas 1945. 246 p., clean and unmarked except for gift inscription on upper margin of front paste down and neat name of former owner on lower corner of front end page and gift inscription; binding firm; green boards despite d.j. have bumping on corners and rubbing at crown and foot of spine; d.j. itself has an open tear at foot of spine panel and chipping at crown; some smudging.
