This is a reprint of a novel originally written in 1947 but not previously published. It is about the American waterfront just after World War II and the labor struggle that took place then among longshormen, bosses, communist labor organizers, gangsters, and thugs over the role of Labor in postwar America. This book is notable for its portrayal of the political mechanics of the period as well as its accurate portrayal of the social history of the struggle. 244p.. Trade Paperback.
