John Lane The Bodley Head, London & New York, 1897. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. New, Edmund H. 428 pages plus 'The Anglers' Calendar' by Hi Regan (complete). A most enjoyable copy of this iconic book. Green boards with stamped titling and decoration. They are marked, worn, scuffed, rubbed all about. They are placid and secure and sure. The pages are untrimmed, they are also a little grubby from shelving. The contents are contented. There are some sporadic splashes of age-related foxing about. A previous owner signature on the opp-dedication page. The book is most wonderfully, patiently and finely illustrated by Edmund New. The contents are most pleasing. They are clean, clear, serene, generous, bountiful, lovingly produced, idyllic in intention and reality. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
