California, Usa: The Foundation Press. Near Fine in Good+ dust jacket. 1974. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Light Mustard coloured cloth bound boards with deep black titling to the spine, and a black 'box' to the front cover, bordered in gilt with bright gilt titling. In the original publisher's illustrated dustjacket. The dustjacket has some (now 'closed') tears, all of which are now neatly repaired to the reverse of the d/j with clear archive tape. A little loss to the top corners, and generally has a few marks/discolouration, but the d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG overall. Stated First Edition. The page fore-edges have some light foxing (yellowy) spots, but internally there are NO Inscriptions or marks. 256 pp. Index. Profusely illustrated with both black/white and colour illustrations and photographs. Contains "... Stirring stories of many of the confrontations which transformed the American frontiers into a civilized vital part of the United States and extended the nation from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans." .
